Why You Should Invest

Investing has become increasingly important over the years, as the future of social security benefits becomes unknown.

People want to insure their futures, and they know that if they are depending on Social Security benefits, and in some cases retirement plans, that they may be in for a rude awakening when they no longer have the ability to earn a steady income. Investing is the answer to the unknowns of the future.

You may have been saving money in a low interest savings account over the years. Now, you want to see that money grow at a faster pace. Perhaps you’ve inherited money or realized some other type of windfall, and you need a way to make that money grow. Again, investing is the answer.

Investing is also a way of attaining the things that you want, such as a new home, a college education for your children, or expensive ‘toys.’ Of course, your financial goals will determine what type of investing you do.

If you want or need to make a lot of money fast, you would be more interested in higher risk investing, which will give you a larger return in a shorter amount of time. If you are saving for something in the far off future, such as retirement, you would want to make safer investments that grow over a longer period of time.

The overall purpose in investing is to create wealth and security, over a period of time. It is important to remember that you will not always be able to earn an income… you will eventually want to retire.

You also cannot count on the social security system to do what you expect it to do. As we have seen with Enron, you also cannot necessarily depend on your company’s retirement plan either. So, again, investing is the key to insuring your own financial future, but you must make smart investments!

What Islam Says On Manners And Dealing With Others

 “And when the foolish address them (with bad words) they reply back with ‘Salamaa’ (peaceful words of gentleness).” (Qur’an, 25:63)

"O ye who believe! Let not some men among you laugh at others: It may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): Nor let some women laugh at others: It may be that the (latter are better than the (former): Nor defame nor be sarcastic to each other, nor call each other by (offensive) nicknames: Ill-seeming is a name connoting wickedness, (to be used of one) after he has believed: And those who do not desist are (indeed) doing wrong.  (The Noble Quran, 49:11)"

"It is part of the Mercy of Allah that thou dost deal gently with them.  Wert thou severe or harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about thee: so pass over (their faults), and ask for (Allah's) forgiveness for them; and consult them in affairs (of moment). Then, when thou hast taken a decision, put thy trust in Allah. For Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him).  (The Noble Quran, 3:159)"

"Those who spend (freely), whether in prosperity, or in adversity; who restrain anger, and pardon (all) men; for Allah loves those who do good.   (The Noble Quran, 3:134)"

"Hold to forgiveness; command what is right; but turn away from the ignorant.  (The Noble Quran, 7:199)"

"Say to My servants that they should (only) say those things that are best: for Satan doth sow dissensions among them: for Satan is to man an avowed enemy.  (The Noble Quran, 17:53)"

"Who avoid vain talk;  (The Noble Quran, 23:3)"

"And when they hear vain talk, they turn away therefrom and say: 'To us our deeds, and to you yours; peace be to you: we seek not the ignorant.'   (The Noble Quran, 28:55)"

`A’ishah (ra) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “The most hated person with Allah is the most quarrelsome person.” (al-Bukhari)

 Abdullah ibn ‘Amr (ra) narrated, “I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about what saves me from Allah’s wrath, and he said, “Do not become angry.” (al-Tabarani and Ibn Abdul Barr) Ibn `Umar, Ibn Mas’ud, and Abu Darda’ (ra) relate similar conversations on their own behalf.
Ibn ‘Abbas (ra) narrated, the Messenger of Allah said, “And when you get angry, keep silent.” (Ahmad, Ibn Abi Dunya, al-Tabarani, and al-Bayhaqi)

The son of Abu Said al-Khudri reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: "When one of you yawns, he should keep his mouth shut with the help of his hand, for it is the devil that enters therein.  (Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book Pertaining to Piety and Softening of Hearts (Kitab Al-Zuhd wa Al-Raqa'iq), Book 042, Number 7130)"

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Anger is a burning coal. It burns in the heart.” (al-Tirmidhi and al-Bayhaqi)

Abu Darda (RA) reported that Rasulullah (SAW) said, “Nothing is weightier on the Scale of Deeds than one’s good manners.”(Al-Bukhari)

Abu Hurairah (RA) said, “I heard Abu al Qasim (Rasulullah (SAW)), say, ‘The best among you in Islam are those with the best manners, so long as they develop a sense of understanding.” (Al-Bukhari)

Rasulullah (SAW) said: “The most beloved of Allah’s servants to Allah are those with the best manners.” (At-Tabarâni and Albani authenticated it in Silsilatul-AHaadeethis-Saheehah

Abd Allah ibn ‘Amr said, “Rasulullah (SAW) was never obscene or coarse. Rather, he used to tell us that the best among us were those with the best manners.” (Al-Bukhari)

Anas (RA) said, “I served Rasulullah (SAW) for ten years. During that time, he never once said to me as much as ‘Oof’ if I did something wrong. He never asked me, if I had failed to do something, ‘Why did you not do it?,’ and he never said to me, if I had done something wrong, ‘Why did you do it?” (Al-Bukhari)

Abu Hurairah (RA) said that Rasulullah (SAW) said, “If one has good manners, one may attain the same level of merit as those who spend their nights in prayer.” (Al-Bukhari)

Abu Hurairah reported that Rasulullah (SAW) said, “And what is most likely to send people to Paradise? Being conscious of Allah and good manners.” (Al-Bukhari)

Nawas ibn Sam’an reported that Rasulullah (SAW) was asked about doing good and evil. He replied, “Doing good is having good manners. Doing evil is what troubles you inside and what you would not like others to know about.” (Al-Bukhari)

Rasulullah (SAW) said, “He who does not show mercy to our young or show esteem for our elders is not one of us.” (Al-Bukhari)

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that Rasulullah (SAW) said: “Richness does not lie in the abundance of (worldly) goods, but richness is the richness of the soul (heart, self).”

Blogger: How to manually add simple table to your blog post

Let say do you want to put following table manually in  blog post.

First Name Class Name Points (%)
Akmal Cemerlang 50
Basiran Cengal 94
Chong Wei Dahlia 80
Dang Anum Dahlia 67

You can use MS-Word to create table and paste it in blog editor. Sometime the table that pasted from MS Word does not show properly because browser compatibility. To address this you can use html code to manually add table to your blog post.

Above table when in html code,

<center><table border="1" cellpadding="3">
<tbody>
<tr>
<th>First Name</th>
<th>Class Name</th>
<th>Points (%)</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Akmal</td>
<td>Cemerlang</td>
<td>50</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Basiran</td>
<td>Cengal</td>
<td>94</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Chong Wei</td>
<td>Dahlia</td>
<td>80</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Dang Anum</td>
<td>Dahlia</td>
<td>67</td>
</tr>
</tbody></table>
</center>

To add html code above in your blog. Copy html code above. Go to your blog post editor and click HTML in your editor. Then paste above code in your editor.
( same step http://akmalhussin.blogspot.com/2013/12/how-to-embed-vimeo-video-in-your.html )

To understand above code let consider following code:

<table border="1">
<tr>
<th>Header 1</th>
<th>Header 2</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>row 1, cell 1</td>
<td>row 1, cell 2</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>row 2, cell 1</td>
<td>row 2, cell 2</td>
</tr>
</table>

It will produce:

Header 1 Header 2
row 1, cell 1 row 1, cell 2
row 2, cell 1 row 2, cell 2

"1" in  border="1" is a border line size. You can put "0" if you do not want the border.
As a result it will be like this:

Header 1 Header 2
row 1, cell 1 row 1, cell 2
row 2, cell 1 row 2, cell 2

This code will produce vertical headers:

<table border="1">
<tr>
<th>Name</th>
<td>Akmal</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<th>ID Ref.</th>
<td>1234567890</td>
</tr>
</table>

Result:

Name Akmal
ID Ref. 1234567890

To add caption to the table

<table border="1">
<caption>My Details</caption>
<tr>
<th>Name</th>
<td>Akmal</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<th>ID Ref.</th>
<td>1234567890</td>
</tr>
</table>

Result:

My Details
Name Akmal
ID Ref. 1234567890

To look more organize, add cellpadding to table property

<table border="1" cellpadding="10">
<caption>My Details</caption>
<tr>
<th>Name</th>
<td>Akmal</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<th>ID Ref.</th>
<td>1234567890</td>
</tr>
</table>

ID Ref. 1234567890

To try it offline on your desktop, copy following code and paste it in notepad.

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<body>
<center><table border="1" cellpadding="3">
<tbody>
<tr>
<th>First Name</th>
<th>Class Name</th>
<th>Points (%)</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Akmal</td>
<td>Cemerlang</td>
<td>50</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Basiran</td>
<td>Cengal</td>
<td>94</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Chong Wei</td>
<td>Dahlia</td>
<td>80</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Dang Anum</td>
<td>Dahlia</td>
<td>67</td>
</tr>
</tbody></table>
</center>

</body>
</html>

Save it as html file.

Then open it with your internet browser.

Common Diseases and Age

Depression

Clinical depression is signaled by persistent change in a person's feelings and behavior that are often misunderstood or ignored. Typical changes include sad or empty feelings, slowed behavior, and changes in eating and sleeping patterns. People with this illness often feel down on themselves and hopeless about future. Many find it difficult to concentrate on work or studies, feel guilty or anxious, cry often or become irritable over little things. Others lose interest in friends, sex and other activities that had given them pleasure in the past. They may complain about physical aches and pains-backaches, headaches, and stomachs problems-for which no medical explanation can be found

Like heart disease and alcoholism, clinical depression often runs in families. More than twice as many women than men suffer from clinical depression and 25% of women and 10% of men will suffer one or more episodes of clinical depression in their lifetimes. Though clinical depression strikes people of all ages, it strikes most often among those aged 24-44.  http://www.medschool.pitt.edu

Obesity

Obesity and overweight have in the last decade become a global problem - according to the World Health Organization (WHO) back in 2005 approximately 1.6 billion adults over the of age 15+ were overweight, at least 400 million adults were obese and at least 20 million children under the age of 5 years were overweight.
Experts believe if the current trends continue by 2015 approximately 2.3 billion adults will be overweight and more than 700 million will be obese. The scale of the obesity problem has a number of serious consequences for individuals and government health systems.
Overweight and obesity are defined by the WHO as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to an individuals health.  The WHO defines an adult who has a BMI between 25 and 29.9 as overweight - an adult who has a BMI of 30 or higher is considered obese - a BMI below 18.5 is considered underweight, and between 18.5 to 24.9 a healthy weight . http://health.usnews.com

Diabetes Type 1

Diabetes type 1 is much rarer, accounting for only 5 to 10 percent of all diagnosed cases of diabetes. With type 1 diabetes, the body’s immune system destroys special cells in the pancreas that manufacture insulin. These cells, called beta cells, are the only places in the body where insulin is produced. Without them, the body lacks the insulin it needs to move glucose out of circulation and control high blood sugar.

Type 1 diabetes often sets in during childhood, with about half of all cases developing before age 20. Most other cases begin in people up to age 30. It’s very unusual to see a case of type 1 diabetes crop up in anyone over age 40. Because it’s widely seen as a disease of the young (although you continue to have it your entire life), type 1 is sometimes called juvenile-onset diabetes. This term, too, has fallen out of favor, both because adults can get type 1 diabetes and because rates of type 2 diabetes in children are exploding.
 http://www.rd.com

Diabetes Type 2

Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes. If you have type 2 diabetes your body does not use insulin properly. This is called insulin resistance. At first, your pancreas makes extra insulin to make up for it. But, over time it isn't able to keep up and can't make enough insulin to keep your blood glucose at normal levels. http://www.diabetes.org

Your risk of developing type 2 diabetes increases as you get older. Diabetes most often affects people over age 40, and people over 65 are at even higher risk. It is recommended that people aged 45 and older be tested for diabetes every three years. http://www.sparkpeople.com

Hypertension

High blood pressure is a common condition in which the force of the blood against your artery walls is high enough that it may eventually cause health problems, such as heart disease.
Blood pressure is determined by the amount of blood your heart pumps and the amount of resistance to blood flow in your arteries. The more blood your heart pumps and the narrower your arteries, the higher your blood pressure.

You can have high blood pressure (hypertension) for years without any symptoms. Uncontrolled high blood pressure increases your risk of serious health problems, including heart attack and stroke.
The risk of high blood pressure increases as you age. Through early middle age, high blood pressure is more common in men. Women are more likely to develop high blood pressure after menopause.

Heart Attack

 Heart attack is the death of a segment of heart muscle caused by the loss of blood supply. The blood supply is usually lost because a coronary artery, one that supplies blood to the heart muscle, has a blood clot, a blockage (coronary thrombosis). If some of the heart muscle dies, the patient experiences chest pain and electrical instability of the heart muscle tissue.

The largest risk factor of heart attack is age. When a man is over 45 years, and a woman is over 55 years of age, their risk of having a heart attack starts to rise significantly.

Lung Cancer

Lung cancer is a type of cancer that begins in the lungs. Your lungs are two spongy organs in your chest that take in oxygen when you inhale and release carbon dioxide when you exhale.  Lung cancer claims more lives each year than do colon, prostate, ovarian and breast cancers combined.
  People who smoke have the greatest risk of lung cancer. The risk of lung cancer increases with the length of time and number of cigarettes you've smoked. If you quit smoking, even after smoking for many years, you can significantly reduce your chances of developing lung cancer. http://www.mayoclinic.com

Lung cancer is more common in older people. About 80% of lung cancers (8 in 10) are diagnosed in people over 60. Lung cancer rarely affects people under 40. http://www.macmillan.org.uk

Google AdWords Keyword Tool RIP!!! ...replace with Keyword Planner

Previously I like play with Google AdWords Keyword  tool to research keyword low competition but high Global Monthly Searches or Local  Monthly Searches. One of the most popular ways to optimize a website for search engines is to target specific keywords so that when people search for them, your website shows up as the primary result. Google AdWords Keyword  tool is a web tool that you can use to analyze keyword search trends so that you can decide which keywords are the best to target. I have not using that tool since a few a month ago because I was too busy researching automated software testing tool and beside that my notebook also had problem.

Today I try to search   Google AdWords Keyword using Google search because I forgot the link.

April 8, 2014: Support for Windows XP and Office 2003 ends

Windows XP

Windows XP is the second most popular version of Windows, based on installed user base. The name "XP" is short for "eXPerience", highlighting the enhanced user experience.
It can use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops and media centers. First released to computer manufacturers on August 24, 2001 and  was released worldwide for retail sale on October 25, 2001, and over 400 million copies were in use in January 2006.

Microsoft Office 2003

Microsoft Office 2003 which released to manufacturing on August 19, 2003 and launched on October 21, 2003, is an office suite written and distributed by Microsoft for their Windows operating system.Office 2003 was the first version to use Windows XP style icons, visual styles and colors.

End Of Support Windows XP and Office 2003

On April 10, 2012, Microsoft reaffirmed that extended support for Windows XP and Office 2003 would end on April 8, 2014 and suggested that administrators begin preparing to migrate to a newer OS.

After this date, customers running Windows XP will no longer receive new security updates, non-security hotfixes, free or paid assisted support options, or online technical content updates. This means that any new vulnerabilities discovered in Windows XP after its "end of life" will not be addressed by new security updates from Microsoft.

Running Windows XP SP3 and Office 2003 in your environment after their end of support date may expose your company to potential risks, such as:
  • Security & Compliance Risks: Unsupported and unpatched environments are vulnerable to security risks. This may result in an officially recognized control failure by an internal or external audit body, leading to suspension of certifications, and/or public notification of the organization’s inability to maintain its systems and customer information.
  • Lack of Independent Software Vendor (ISV) & Hardware Manufacturers support: A recent industry report from Gartner Research suggests "many independent software vendors (ISVs) are unlikely to support new versions of applications on Windows XP in 2011; in 2012, it will become common." And it may stifle access to hardware innovation: Gartner Research further notes that in 2012, most PC hardware manufacturers will stop supporting Windows XP on the majority of their new PC models.

 Why is Microsoft ending support for Windows XP and Office 2003?

In 2002 Microsoft introduced its Support Lifecycle policy based on customer feedback to have more transparency and predictability of support for Microsoft products. As per this policy, Microsoft Business and Developer products, including Windows and Office products, receive a minimum of 10 years of support (5 years Mainstream Support and 5 years Extended Support), at the supported service pack level.

Thus, Windows XP SP3 and Office 2003 will go out of support on April 8, 2014. If your organization has not started the migration to a modern desktop, you are late. Based on historical customer deployment data, the average enterprise deployment can take 18 to 32 months from business case through full deployment. To ensure you remain on supported versions of Windows and Office, you should begin your planning and application testing immediately to ensure you deploy before end of support.
