Aman Palestin: FREE PALESTINE SAVE GAZA!!! Contribute Now!

Who is Aman Palestin

The establishment of the illegal State of Israel 0n 15 May, 1948 on Palestine soil 65 years ago has invited major catastrophe where the world has to witness the cruelty of the Zionist regime who kept on unleashing battle upon battle that resulted in the death of thousands of Palestine citizens who fell as martyrs, while making million others flee to safety as refugees only to face unemployment problems and suffer losing certain body limbs. Children were made orphans and wives were made widows for losing fathers and husbands who fell defending their beloved homeland from violation and colonization.
The on-going misery suffered by the Palestinians somehow conjured up a kind of consciousness in all Muslims around the world to offer a hand in assistance.
Hence Aman Palestin, as an initiative towards achieving peace in Palestine, operates on 3 main bases:
  1. Humanity
  2. Brotherhood
  3. The sanctity of Bait al-Maqdis
Aman Palestin provides continuous emergency, humanitarian and welfare assistance to the Palestinian people until completion.

"Orang Mawas" - Bigfoot in Malaysia

Bigfoot or Orang Mawas  reported to inhabit the jungle of Johor in Malaysia. It is described as being about 10 ft tall, bipedal and covered in black fur, and has been reported feeding on fish and raiding orchards. Mawas is another name for "Orang Utan".

Bigfoot have became hot story twice in 2013,

Jun, 2013

About 200 Bigfoot-like footprints have been reportedly discovered near Kampung Kepis Baru, Kuala Pilah, Malaysia, causing panic among villagers.

According to Harian Metro reports, a villager named Adnan Pungut, has claimed that he discovered the footprints when he was clearing rubbish and wood at his rubber estate at around 3pm on Saturday.
Pungut said that he immediately informed other villagers and they found 200 footprints that were about the same size, Star online reported.

Based on the footprints, they assumed that the creature has two legs and weighs more than 100kg, he added.

Dec, 2013

Liew Tze Chong, 58, villagers of Kg Gudang Garam found giant  footprints measuring 30cm long and 15cm wide each. He discovered the footprints when he went to his farm at 8.30am.

The Johor Malaysian Nature Society (MNS), when contacted by Berita Harian reporter, did not rule out the possibility that the footprints could be that of Bigfoot's.

MNS chairman Vincent Chow said although he had yet to examine the footprints, he believed the creature exists as previously reported.

"Based on my extensive research, there is evidence to show that Bigfoot is not a myth.

"I would like to work with the local community on this so that we can conduct a more in-depth study on Bigfoot," he added.

Meanwhile, Segamat district police chief Supt Mohd Kamil Sukarmi said he has yet to receive any report on the discovery of the footprint.

In 2005, when the New Straits Times broke the story of a large footprint found in the Endau Rompin National Park, it drew an entourage of foreign journalists and researchers to Johor.

Many villagers, including the Orang Asli community reportedly claimed they had spotted the creature whom they called "Hantu Jarang Gigi"  in the national park and the forests of Tanjung Piai, Mersing, Kahang and Kota Tinggi. Some even claimed they saw the Bigfoot family.

Some members of the local community reportedly made a lucrative income from taking the foreigners into the jungles, and acting as their trekking guides.

Are they member of Planet of The Apes?

P/S: You also can ask DAP's Karpal Singh's about the bigfoot in Kinabatangan, Sabah.

BookUp: Save money on your college textbook!

Used text book
Used Text Books

One major hidden expense of going to university or college is paying for textbooks. Most people do not realize that a full course load worth of brand new textbooks from the campus bookstore can easily run over a thousand dollars! ...but at the end, the textbooks just sitting on their shelf collecting dust. For this problem,  BookUp has solution for you.

What is BookUp?
BookUp, is dedicated to help students and book readers to sell their textbooks or books AND also to allow people to purchase used books at lower price.

Why BookUp?

As a student once, one of the challenge is having too many unwanted textbooks at the end of every semester during our college or university years. Plus the fact that many avid readers have too many books sitting on their shelf collecting dust. We could not bear to witness so many good books being sent to the recycling center or dumpsite. That is how this humble idea came out and started this project to solve the problem. At BookUp value books a lot!

Who are in this project?

This project is started by two young people, named Mike Chu and Jacqueline Khoo. Both graduated and worked in their respective career path for some time. It is because of the love of books that both of them decided to quit their job and dedicated months to start this project to help students and book readers.

How BookUp works?

BookUp allows people to sell their books and buy used books through few simple steps:

To buy books: Once buyer identified the books that they wanted to buy, they just have to complete the payment. Books will then be sent to them. http://bookup.my/showall

To sell books: Sellers will only need to go through this three simple steps  >>  http://bookup.my/sell-books-online

Where they are?

BookUp is currently based in Ipoh, Perak and still in the process of expansion to other states. Starting from January 2014, we will be going around to universities and colleges to engage with students. And for your information, USM will be our first stop.

How to contact them?

If you interested with this project or to engage with them. They can be contacted via email: mybookup@gmail.com  OR Jacqueline : jacq@bookup.my

Why You Should Invest

Investing has become increasingly important over the years, as the future of social security benefits becomes unknown.

People want to insure their futures, and they know that if they are depending on Social Security benefits, and in some cases retirement plans, that they may be in for a rude awakening when they no longer have the ability to earn a steady income. Investing is the answer to the unknowns of the future.

You may have been saving money in a low interest savings account over the years. Now, you want to see that money grow at a faster pace. Perhaps you’ve inherited money or realized some other type of windfall, and you need a way to make that money grow. Again, investing is the answer.

Investing is also a way of attaining the things that you want, such as a new home, a college education for your children, or expensive ‘toys.’ Of course, your financial goals will determine what type of investing you do.

If you want or need to make a lot of money fast, you would be more interested in higher risk investing, which will give you a larger return in a shorter amount of time. If you are saving for something in the far off future, such as retirement, you would want to make safer investments that grow over a longer period of time.

The overall purpose in investing is to create wealth and security, over a period of time. It is important to remember that you will not always be able to earn an income… you will eventually want to retire.

You also cannot count on the social security system to do what you expect it to do. As we have seen with Enron, you also cannot necessarily depend on your company’s retirement plan either. So, again, investing is the key to insuring your own financial future, but you must make smart investments!

What Islam Says On Manners And Dealing With Others

“And when the foolish address them (with bad words) they reply back with ‘Salamaa’ (peaceful words of gentleness).” (Qur’an, 25:63)

"O ye who believe! Let not some men among you laugh at others: It may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): Nor let some women laugh at others: It may be that the (latter are better than the (former): Nor defame nor be sarcastic to each other, nor call each other by (offensive) nicknames: Ill-seeming is a name connoting wickedness, (to be used of one) after he has believed: And those who do not desist are (indeed) doing wrong.  (The Noble Quran, 49:11)"

"It is part of the Mercy of Allah that thou dost deal gently with them.  Wert thou severe or harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about thee: so pass over (their faults), and ask for (Allah's) forgiveness for them; and consult them in affairs (of moment). Then, when thou hast taken a decision, put thy trust in Allah. For Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him).  (The Noble Quran, 3:159)"

"Those who spend (freely), whether in prosperity, or in adversity; who restrain anger, and pardon (all) men; for Allah loves those who do good.   (The Noble Quran, 3:134)"

"Hold to forgiveness; command what is right; but turn away from the ignorant.  (The Noble Quran, 7:199)"

"Say to My servants that they should (only) say those things that are best: for Satan doth sow dissensions among them: for Satan is to man an avowed enemy.  (The Noble Quran, 17:53)"

"Who avoid vain talk;  (The Noble Quran, 23:3)"

"And when they hear vain talk, they turn away therefrom and say: 'To us our deeds, and to you yours; peace be to you: we seek not the ignorant.'   (The Noble Quran, 28:55)"

`A’ishah (ra) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “The most hated person with Allah is the most quarrelsome person.” (al-Bukhari)

Abdullah ibn ‘Amr (ra) narrated, “I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about what saves me from Allah’s wrath, and he said, “Do not become angry.” (al-Tabarani and Ibn Abdul Barr) Ibn `Umar, Ibn Mas’ud, and Abu Darda’ (ra) relate similar conversations on their own behalf.
Ibn ‘Abbas (ra) narrated, the Messenger of Allah said, “And when you get angry, keep silent.” (Ahmad, Ibn Abi Dunya, al-Tabarani, and al-Bayhaqi)

The son of Abu Said al-Khudri reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: "When one of you yawns, he should keep his mouth shut with the help of his hand, for it is the devil that enters therein.  (Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book Pertaining to Piety and Softening of Hearts (Kitab Al-Zuhd wa Al-Raqa'iq), Book 042, Number 7130)"

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Anger is a burning coal. It burns in the heart.” (al-Tirmidhi and al-Bayhaqi)

Abu Darda (RA) reported that Rasulullah (SAW) said, “Nothing is weightier on the Scale of Deeds than one’s good manners.”(Al-Bukhari)

Abu Hurairah (RA) said, “I heard Abu al Qasim (Rasulullah (SAW)), say, ‘The best among you in Islam are those with the best manners, so long as they develop a sense of understanding.” (Al-Bukhari)

Rasulullah (SAW) said: “The most beloved of Allah’s servants to Allah are those with the best manners.” (At-Tabarâni and Albani authenticated it in Silsilatul-AHaadeethis-Saheehah

Abd Allah ibn ‘Amr said, “Rasulullah (SAW) was never obscene or coarse. Rather, he used to tell us that the best among us were those with the best manners.” (Al-Bukhari)

Anas (RA) said, “I served Rasulullah (SAW) for ten years. During that time, he never once said to me as much as ‘Oof’ if I did something wrong. He never asked me, if I had failed to do something, ‘Why did you not do it?,’ and he never said to me, if I had done something wrong, ‘Why did you do it?” (Al-Bukhari)

Abu Hurairah (RA) said that Rasulullah (SAW) said, “If one has good manners, one may attain the same level of merit as those who spend their nights in prayer.” (Al-Bukhari)

Abu Hurairah reported that Rasulullah (SAW) said, “And what is most likely to send people to Paradise? Being conscious of Allah and good manners.” (Al-Bukhari)

Nawas ibn Sam’an reported that Rasulullah (SAW) was asked about doing good and evil. He replied, “Doing good is having good manners. Doing evil is what troubles you inside and what you would not like others to know about.” (Al-Bukhari)

Rasulullah (SAW) said, “He who does not show mercy to our young or show esteem for our elders is not one of us.” (Al-Bukhari)

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that Rasulullah (SAW) said: “Richness does not lie in the abundance of (worldly) goods, but richness is the richness of the soul (heart, self).”

Common Diseases and Age

Clinical depression is signaled by persistent change in a person's feelings and behavior that are often misunderstood or ignored. Typical changes include sad or empty feelings, slowed behavior, and changes in eating and sleeping patterns. People with this illness often feel down on themselves and hopeless about future. Many find it difficult to concentrate on work or studies, feel guilty or anxious, cry often or become irritable over little things. Others lose interest in friends, sex and other activities that had given them pleasure in the past. They may complain about physical aches and pains-backaches, headaches, and stomachs problems-for which no medical explanation can be found

Like heart disease and alcoholism, clinical depression often runs in families. More than twice as many women than men suffer from clinical depression and 25% of women and 10% of men will suffer one or more episodes of clinical depression in their lifetimes. Though clinical depression strikes people of all ages, it strikes most often among those aged 24-44.  http://www.medschool.pitt.edu

Obesity and overweight have in the last decade become a global problem - according to the World Health Organization (WHO) back in 2005 approximately 1.6 billion adults over the of age 15+ were overweight, at least 400 million adults were obese and at least 20 million children under the age of 5 years were overweight.
Experts believe if the current trends continue by 2015 approximately 2.3 billion adults will be overweight and more than 700 million will be obese. The scale of the obesity problem has a number of serious consequences for individuals and government health systems.
Overweight and obesity are defined by the WHO as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to an individuals health.  The WHO defines an adult who has a BMI between 25 and 29.9 as overweight - an adult who has a BMI of 30 or higher is considered obese - a BMI below 18.5 is considered underweight, and between 18.5 to 24.9 a healthy weight . http://health.usnews.com

Diabetes Type 1

Diabetes type 1 is much rarer, accounting for only 5 to 10 percent of all diagnosed cases of diabetes. With type 1 diabetes, the body’s immune system destroys special cells in the pancreas that manufacture insulin. These cells, called beta cells, are the only places in the body where insulin is produced. Without them, the body lacks the insulin it needs to move glucose out of circulation and control high blood sugar.

Type 1 diabetes often sets in during childhood, with about half of all cases developing before age 20. Most other cases begin in people up to age 30. It’s very unusual to see a case of type 1 diabetes crop up in anyone over age 40. Because it’s widely seen as a disease of the young (although you continue to have it your entire life), type 1 is sometimes called juvenile-onset diabetes. This term, too, has fallen out of favor, both because adults can get type 1 diabetes and because rates of type 2 diabetes in children are exploding.

Diabetes Type 2

Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes. If you have type 2 diabetes your body does not use insulin properly. This is called insulin resistance. At first, your pancreas makes extra insulin to make up for it. But, over time it isn't able to keep up and can't make enough insulin to keep your blood glucose at normal levels. http://www.diabetes.org

Your risk of developing type 2 diabetes increases as you get older. Diabetes most often affects people over age 40, and people over 65 are at even higher risk. It is recommended that people aged 45 and older be tested for diabetes every three years. http://www.sparkpeople.com

High blood pressure is a common condition in which the force of the blood against your artery walls is high enough that it may eventually cause health problems, such as heart disease.
Blood pressure is determined by the amount of blood your heart pumps and the amount of resistance to blood flow in your arteries. The more blood your heart pumps and the narrower your arteries, the higher your blood pressure.

You can have high blood pressure (hypertension) for years without any symptoms. Uncontrolled high blood pressure increases your risk of serious health problems, including heart attack and stroke.
The risk of high blood pressure increases as you age. Through early middle age, high blood pressure is more common in men. Women are more likely to develop high blood pressure after menopause.

Heart Attack

Heart attack is the death of a segment of heart muscle caused by the loss of blood supply. The blood supply is usually lost because a coronary artery, one that supplies blood to the heart muscle, has a blood clot, a blockage (coronary thrombosis). If some of the heart muscle dies, the patient experiences chest pain and electrical instability of the heart muscle tissue.

The largest risk factor of heart attack is age. When a man is over 45 years, and a woman is over 55 years of age, their risk of having a heart attack starts to rise significantly.

Lung Cancer

Lung cancer is a type of cancer that begins in the lungs. Your lungs are two spongy organs in your chest that take in oxygen when you inhale and release carbon dioxide when you exhale.  Lung cancer claims more lives each year than do colon, prostate, ovarian and breast cancers combined.
People who smoke have the greatest risk of lung cancer. The risk of lung cancer increases with the length of time and number of cigarettes you've smoked. If you quit smoking, even after smoking for many years, you can significantly reduce your chances of developing lung cancer. http://www.mayoclinic.com

Lung cancer is more common in older people. About 80% of lung cancers (8 in 10) are diagnosed in people over 60. Lung cancer rarely affects people under 40. http://www.macmillan.org.uk

Previously I like play with Google AdWords Keyword  tool to research keyword low competition but high Global Monthly Searches or Local  Monthly Searches. Microsoft Office 2003 which released to manufacturing on August 19, 2003 and launched on October 21, 2003, is an office suite written and distributed by Microsoft for their Windows operating system.Office 2003 was the first version to use Windows XP style icons, visual styles and colors.

End Of Support Windows XP and Office 2003

On April 10, 2012, Microsoft reaffirmed that extended support for Windows XP and Office 2003 would end on April 8, 2014 and suggested that administrators begin preparing to migrate to a newer OS.

After this date, customers running Windows XP will no longer receive new security updates, non-security hotfixes, free or paid assisted support options, or online technical content updates. This means that any new vulnerabilities discovered in Windows XP after its "end of life" will not be addressed by new security updates from Microsoft.

Running Windows XP SP3 and Office 2003 in your environment after their end of support date may expose your company to potential risks, such as:
  • Security & Compliance Risks: Unsupported and unpatched environments are vulnerable to security risks. This may result in an officially recognized control failure by an internal or external audit body, leading to suspension of certifications, and/or public notification of the organization’s inability to maintain its systems and customer information.
  • Lack of Independent Software Vendor (ISV) & Hardware Manufacturers support: A recent industry report from Gartner Research suggests "many independent software vendors (ISVs) are unlikely to support new versions of applications on Windows XP in 2011; in 2012, it will become common." And it may stifle access to hardware innovation: Gartner Research further notes that in 2012, most PC hardware manufacturers will stop supporting Windows XP on the majority of their new PC models.

Why is Microsoft ending support for Windows XP and Office 2003?

In 2002 Microsoft introduced its Support Lifecycle policy based on customer feedback to have more transparency and predictability of support for Microsoft products. As per this policy, Microsoft Business and Developer products, including Windows and Office products, receive a minimum of 10 years of support (5 years Mainstream Support and 5 years Extended Support), at the supported service pack level.

Thus, Windows XP SP3 and Office 2003 will go out of support on April 8, 2014. If your organization has not started the migration to a modern desktop, you are late. Based on historical customer deployment data, the average enterprise deployment can take 18 to 32 months from business case through full deployment. To ensure you remain on supported versions of Windows and Office, you should begin your planning and application testing immediately to ensure you deploy before end of support.

What Is My My Career Passion?

"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle."
- Steve Jobs

Sometime I don't know what is my career passion. This morning I do Google search "how to find your career passion" and found article in forbes.com which written by Lisa Quast. She suggested to get some time out and ask a few question to yourself.

Here are the list of suggested questions:

What makes me happy?
What adjectives would people who know me use to describe me?
What are my core values in life?
What is my definition of success?
What things at work am I good at accomplishing?
What things at work do I hate?
What do I want to be known for?
What would be the description of my “perfect job”?
With what kind of people would I be working?
How would my work benefit me?
How would my work benefit other people?
How would my work make me feel?

Rich and Famous Computer Programmers

Bill Gates

William Henry Gates III was born in Seattle, Washington on October 28th, 1955. He is an American business magnate, investor, programmer, inventor and philanthropist.Gates began to show an interest in computer programming at the age of 13 at the Lakeside School. In 1970, at the age of 15, Bill Gates went into business with his pal, Paul Allen. They developed "Traf-o-Data," a computer program that monitored traffic patterns in Seattle, and netted $20,000 for their efforts. Gates and Allen wanted to start their own company, but Gates' parents wanted him to finish school and go on to college where they hoped he would work to become a lawyer. In 1975, Gates and Allen formed a partnership they called Micro-Soft, a blend of "micro-computer" and "software."

Gates was number one on the Forbes 400 list from 1993 through to 2007 and number one on Forbes list of The World's Richest People from 1995 to 2007 and 2009. In 1999, his wealth briefly surpassed $101 billion, causing the media to call Gates a "centibillionaire". Despite his wealth and extensive business travel Gates usually flew coach until 1997, when he bought a private jet.

Since 2000, the nominal value of his Microsoft holdings has declined due to a fall in Microsoft's stock price after the dot-com bubble burst and the multi-billion dollar donations he has made to his charitable foundations. In a May 2006 interview, Gates commented that he wished that he were not the richest man in the world because he disliked the attention it brought. In March 2010, Gates was the second wealthiest person behind Carlos Slim, but regained the top position in 2013 according to the Bloomberg Billionaires List.Gates has several investments outside Microsoft, which in 2006 paid him a salary of $616,667 and $350,000 bonus totaling $966,667. He founded Corbis, a digital imaging company, in 1989. In 2004 he became a director of Berkshire Hathaway, the investment company headed by long-time friend Warren Buffett.

During his brief stint at the University of California at Berkeley, Steve Wozniak met Steve Jobs through a mutual friend. The two paired up to form Apple Computer on April 1, 1976, prompting Wozniak to quit his job at Hewlett-Packard.

Working out of a family garage, he and Jobs attempted to produce a user-friendly alternative to the computers that were being introduced by International Business Machines at that time. Wozniak worked on the invention of products and Jobs was responsible for marketing.

Not long after Apple was founded, Wozniak created the Apple I, a so-called "Homebrew" design built largely in Jobs's bedroom and garage. With Wozniak's knowledge of electronics and Jobs's marketing skills, the two were well-suited to do business together. Wozniak went on to conceive the Apple II as part of the company's personal-computer series, and by 1983, Apple had a stock value of $985 million.
Wozniak ended his employment with Apple in 1987.

In 1990 he joined Mitchell Kapor in establishing the Electronic Frontier Foundation, an organization which provides legal aid for computer hackers facing criminal prosecution.

Wozniak co-founded Wheels of Zeus in 2001, to create wireless GPS technology in order to help the average person on the street find everyday things more easily.

After Wheels of Zeus closed in 2006, Wozniak published his autobiography,iWoz: From Computer Geek to Cult Icon: How I Invented the Personal Computer, Co-Founded Apple, and Had Fun Doing It. Three years later, he joined the Salt Lake City-based start-up Fusion-io as its chief scientist.

They called the search engine Google after the mathematical term "Googol," which is a 1 followed by 100 zeros, to reflect their mission to organize the immense amount of information available on the Web.

After raising $1 million from family, friends and other investors, the pair launched the company in 1998. Google has since become the world's most popular search engine, receiving more than 200 million queries each day. Headquartered in the heart of California's Silicon Valley, Google held its initial public offering in August 2004, making Page and Brin billionaires. Page continues to share responsibility for Google's day-to-day operations with Sergey Brin and CEO Eric Schmidt. International Programmers’ Day: 256th Day of Each Year

Programmers’ Day is a professional holiday recognized in many technology companies around the world.
It is celebrated on 256th day of every year, September 13th or the 12th on leap years.  The holiday is officially recognized in Russia and observed in several other countries, including Israel, Brazil, Mexico, Germany, Canada, China, France, India, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, Poland, Italy, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Why the 256th Day of the year? The number 256 was chosen because it is the number of distinct values that can be represented with an eight-bit byte, a value well-known to programmers everywhere. A byte can have 256 possible values, bytes are very important to programmers. Not because they are required for programs to work, but because the payroll system and Krispy Kreme doughnut cash registers require them. 1111 1111 is the 256th value start from 0000 0000( January,1st )

0000 0000
0000 0001
0000 0010
0000 00011
11111 1111

A programmer, computer programmer, developer, coder, or software engineer is a person who writes computer software. The term computer programmer can refer to a specialist in one area of computer programming or to a generalist who writes code for many kinds of software. One who practices or professes a formal approach to programming may also be known as a programmer analyst.

int main()

printf(“Hello World\n”);

return 0;

Above is a sample program,  write in "C" programming language. This program will print "Hello World" on command prompt. Above code need to compile first using C compiler. Compiler will analyze the code, check whether the syntax is correct or not and then generate machine codes( codes that computer can understand). The compiler will generate execution files ( e.g helloworld.exe in Windows environment ).

Do you want to be programmer?

What is Deodorant

According to Dictionary.com, deodorant is:
1.an agent for destroying odors.
2.a substance, often combined with an antiperspirant, for inhibiting or masking perspiration or other bodily odors.

3.capable of destroying odors: a deodorant cream.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia,

Deodorants are substances applied to the body to affect body odor caused by bacterial growth and the smell associated with bacterial breakdown of perspiration in armpits, feet and other areas of the body. A subgroup of deodorants, antiperspirants, affect odor as well as prevent sweating by affecting sweat glands. Antiperspirants are typically applied to the underarms, while deodorants may also be used on feet and other areas in the form of body sprays. In the United States, deodorants are classified and regulated as cosmetics by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Antiperspirants are classified as drugs by the FDA.

The first commercial deodorant, Mum, was introduced and patented in the late nineteenth century by an inventor in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, whose name has been lost to history. The product was briefly withdrawn from the market in the U.S., but is currently available at U.S. retailers under the brand Ban. The modern formulation of the antiperspirant was patented by Jules Montenier on January 28, 1941. This formulation was first found in "Stopette" deodorant spray, which Time Magazine called "the best-selling deodorant of the early 1950s".Stopette was later eclipsed by many other brands as the 1941 patent expired.

Type of Deodorant

Stick and powder deodorants

Stick and powder deodorants are generally considered "dry" deodorants because they typically do not leave the skin wet after they are applied. Products in stick form are generally solid white or clear deodorants that are rubbed on the armpits. Powder deodorant is sprinkled or patted on, and is often made of the same types of ingredients as stick deodorant but without the silicone or fatty substances that bind them together.

Gel deodorant

Gel deodorant is applied in a similar way as the stick varieties but comes in a thick gel that is pushed up through holes or slits in the cap.

Cream deodorant

Cream deodorant is usually applied with the fingertips

Liquid deodorant

Liquid deodorant may be patted on with the fingers, splashed on or sprayed on with a pump sprayer.

Roll-on deodorant

Roll-on deodorant has a ball in the top of the bottle that rolls and applies the product to the skin in a thin layer.

Homemade deodorant

Organic deodorant is a personal hygiene product made with organic ingredients that is meant to mask the scent of body odor. Some people prefer to use this kind of product because they prefer not to apply synthetic or non-organic products to their skin. Others use organic deodorant because they believe that products that keep their skin from perspiring are unhealthy.

What type of deodorants should i use

  • if you have low body fat you will also have less body odor, and so you may only need a mild deodorant to combat smell.
  • If you are of a larger body type, you may be interested in choosing a stronger deodorant, as your body may secrete and release more odors.
  • If you have an underlying factor that causes your body to put out more or less odor, choose a stronger or lighter deodorant accordingly.
  • if you have an illness or disorder that causes sensitive skin and reactions to synthetic products, choose a hypoallergenic deodorant that has a natural scent or is unscented.

Deodorants and Breast Cancer

Articles in the press and on the Internet have warned that underarm antiperspirants (a preparation that reduces underarm sweat) or deodorants (a preparation that destroys or masks unpleasant odors) cause breast cancer . The reports have suggested that these products contain harmful substances, which can be absorbed through the skin or enter the body through nicks caused by shaving. Some scientists have also proposed that certain ingredients in underarm antiperspirants or deodorants may be related to breast cancer because they are applied frequently to an area next to the breast .

However, researchers at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), a part of the National Institutes of Health, are not aware of any conclusive evidence linking the use of underarm antiperspirants or deodorants and the subsequent development of breast cancer. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which regulates food, cosmetics, medicines, and medical devices, also does not have any evidence or research data that ingredients in underarm antiperspirants or deodorants cause cancer.
